Digital X-ray is one of the most versatile diagnostic tools in veterinary medicine. At Overpeck Creek Animal Hospital, our advanced digital radiography system allows us to quickly evaluate the heart, lungs, abdominal organs, and skeletal system without the discomfort of traditional film X-rays. These images can help identify conditions such as tumors, fractures, organ enlargement, and foreign bodies—often within minutes of a concern being raised.

Ultrasound imaging uses high-frequency sound waves to create real-time images of your pet’s internal organs—safely and without radiation. It is especially useful for evaluating abdominal organs such as the liver, spleen, kidneys, bladder, and reproductive system, as well as for guiding biopsies or fluid sampling. This procedure is non-invasive and is typically well tolerated, often without the need for sedation.

When cardiac disease is suspected, our team can perform an echocardiogram—a real-time ultrasound of the heart—to assess heart size, wall thickness, valve function, and blood flow. Echocardiograms are painless and non-invasive and can help detect conditions such as congenital heart defects, heart disease, cardiac tumors, and certain heartworm-related changes.

We offer both flexible and rigid endoscopy services. Flexible endoscopy allows us to retrieve foreign objects from the upper gastrointestinal tract (such as coins, toys, and rings) and obtain biopsies without the need for surgery. Rigid endoscopy is used to examine the nasal passages in patients with chronic nasal disease. Most endoscopic procedures are minimally invasive and performed on a same-day basis.
