What is AAHA Accreditation?
The American Animal Hospital Association (AAHA) is the only organization that accredits veterinary practices in the United States and Canada. AAHA-accredited practices are evaluated against more than 900 standards of veterinary care — standards that include everything from patient care and pain management to anesthesia protocols and medical recordkeeping.
Why It Matters for Your Pet
When you choose an AAHA-accredited hospital, you're choosing a practice that has voluntarily committed to the highest standards in the profession. Our accreditation is renewed through ongoing evaluations — it's not a one-time certification.
- 900+ standards covering all aspects of veterinary care
- Regular on-site evaluations by AAHA veterinary consultants
- Commitment to continuing education for all staff
- Earned by fewer than 15% of U.S. veterinary practices
